What types of spots to fish in early Winter? - 12/20/20 04:33 PM

Hi Y'all,
I'm heading out to Buchanan in the coming week targeting Whites/Hybrids/Stripers. What areas of the lake should I focus on? I am thinking northern half of the lake and fishing some humps in 30-40 feet of water with slabs and deadsticking? Does that sound about right?
Thanks for any information!

Never fished Buchanan and lakes seem to fish so differently from my experience. I would look at the main channel areas in 25-40 fow. Deadsticking for hybrids and a slow vertical retrieve for white bass. Just have to go play and put time in on that particular body of water to know for sure.

I fished it the last 2 Thursdays in the main part of the lake. Launched at Blackrock and fished just off the river channel in 40 - 60 fow. Schools were constantly moving. Some had lockjaw but both times easily caught limits of whites. Fished vertical with MAL spinners.
