Canyon Water Temp 55

Canyon Water Temp 55 - 12/07/20 02:37 PM

That's about all I have to report.
Went out to do more tinkering with my new XI5 than fishing.
Once I decided to go look for some fish, I came across a stranded boater (guy with his son). They said they had been trying to get someone to help them for over 2 hours and nobody would stop. I towed them across the entire lake to get them back to Potters where they launched at. By the time we got there I was out of time so I booked it back across the lake because I launched at the opposite end. frown

Fish wise, I came across a few small schools busting the top. They were short lived. Seemed to always be on the very end of a point.

When your out, I would encourage you to not ignore people who are stranded. You don't have to take them all the way to their truck but you can at least get them to a marina or ramp.
I've been stranded before and in a situation where people are blowing past you and not stopping. That's not fun.

Good for you helping out! I’ve done that a couple of times and am happy to do so again! Thanks for the report too. Canyon is on my to-do list the next couple of trips!

That’s great you would help them out!! Last summer, the wife and I went out one evening to fish and spent the whole time on the water towing a family back to the boat ramp they launched from. That’s ok because 5 years before I had a battery blow up one evening and a nice couple towed me and my family back to shore and helped us get our boat loaded as it had no power and battery acid all over the inside of the battery compartment.

Kindness will be repaid no doubt.

That's the Holzer I remember. You are the man! clap
When I got my brand new BW boat to twok, I towed a biggo pontoon with a full family on it from the dam all the way up to the marina at a blazing speed of 7mph, got to eat my sandwich, snacks and drink while towing lol.

Let it be known that in Holzer and Todd's boat, the emergency box includes tow rope, snacks, sandwich and drinks laugh

I didn't mention in the first post that during this time I found apple juice in my cooler that expired in December of 2019.
I guess that's a sign that I need to take kids or diabetics fishing more often....
