Need some pointers on how and where to catch Stripers on lake Bridgeport during this time of year. Any and all help will be appreciated!

Lake Bridgeport does not contain stripers. It does have hybrid stripers and white bass. I am not familiar with the best locations for them on the lake at this time of year but I am sure others will respond.

Thanks for clearing that up!

Closest areas that I know of to DFW would be Granbury, Texoma, and Whitney.
Never been there but I personally would start in main lake on the west side....tons of underwater points and humps that the white bass and hybrids would likely be on. With the lake being clear I would be focused on about 20-30 fow. I bet you can catch fish year round in that area.

I have fished Porte since the late 90's. Hit and miss right now. bait is plentiful, aerators are off, water temp mid 60's, fish are moving at mach three, sandies beginning to gather mid lake humps and north to wind blown point and bomber island. Silver slabs, hollerithic or 3/4 ounce cotton Cordell are good from 22 -30 fow. Some schooling on wind blown points, gulls are starting to appear as are the liar birds (terns). Go to avionics.com and search lake contours as some of the loaded chips have false readings.Lake Bridgeporte has some of the best ambush spots around , points extending out from shallow to deeper water break lines with sand bars close.
Hybrids are few and far between , you can target them with flutter spoons and larger slabs and might toss A-rig and let fall. Burn your slabs to excite or cut up some bait on said spots.
A lot of " tight or heavy line ", fish mouth bait without striking and always watch your line for slack.

I've got Texoma on my list of lakes to fish, but was wondering if I would have to purchase an Oklahoma fishing license as well. I've heard if you stay on the Texas side of the lake, you don't.... but is it that easy to know which side you are on just from electronics?

If you're going to be on a boat, just get the license. You'll save yourself alot of aggravation if you happen to be on the OK side and get checked.

it's a Texoma fishing tag. Don't have to buy an Oklahoma license. They are good from Jan 1 to Dec 31. They're 12.00 It looks just like a license, but it's in the computer listed as a tag.

Thanks again for the information, I will lean on the side of caution and just purchase the Texoma fishing tag to be safe. God Bless
