October Fishing Report - 10/07/20 07:18 PM

So I'm sidelined this Fall season as some of you may no with a shoulder surgery.
Looking back on My past years of fishing I could only hope there would be a sandbass bite on the lake this Fall season.

In the good years typically by later October maybe we have a few birds working the 309 flats showing us the way to some feeding fish.
It could be sunup or mid morning before we would find anything productive but when we do find them it's usually a mixture of hybrids plus sandbass!
Sounds good doesn't it, unfortunately those days happen about two weeks maybe three weeks out of the Fall season and the rest of the time you're wondering where did all those fish go

When you start having enough days of slow bite on the sandbass you start going for the catfish.
You can usually make your customers happy with a box of bluecat if they're interested in catching catfish.

You can bait out a spot with some range cubes or sour grain or both than go back the next morning with punch bait which is stinky cheese bait and do pretty good.
The fish run kinda small but it's live action.

I honestly prefer to look for the catfish with my graph locating the bigger bluecat and cast a fresh caught shad at them.

It's all fun as long as you're on my favorite lake Richland chambers and enjoying the outdoors with your best bud or your family members!

I will see you late winter when this shoulder heals up!

Sorry to hear you are on the bench for a few weeks, Bob. I always enjoy talking to you when I'm down at RC. Here's wishing you a speedy recovery and I hope you make it back on the lake sooner than you've planned.

Do those exercises, they help a lot with recovery and range of motion.

God bless!

Great to hear from you Bob I was down a couple of weeks ago caught lots of Sandie's and a 18" hybrid but most fish was small ,they had a great spawn they should be keepers by the time you get back to guiding.
