Found Rod/Reel at Lake Grapevine. - 08/15/20 01:51 PM

Original thread in "Bass Fishing" ,
Oringinal post in Bass Fishing

Found a rod/reel combo that still had a lure tied on. Hook still pretty sharp, so it wasn't too long ago. Just recently out of the water, gutted the reel and after removing about two ounces of sand its pretty darn smooth. The reel had a protective neoprene cover, with the combined flotation of the handle may have drifted down the lake. So it may have been lost elsewhere.. Casts like a dream, had a eagles nest first cast..

Spread the word, if you know someone who lost a rod/reel at Lake Grapevine (TX) tell them to get in touch with me. If you can describe setup would love to get it back to it's owner.

Kudos to you Sir ! One should not have to praise honesty but in this day and time.......well, let’s just say it’s getting more rare each day.

Just trying to teach the kids something. Little man was shocked when he cast the reel, he was amazed. I made a video at the time we found it, as it was cleaned, and then using it. It was a mess inside, full of sand. Hope to share the video with you all soon, that would be real cool ending to the story.

So not only did you retrieve the rod/reel but put it back in good operating order. Then posted hoping to find the owner.
We need millions more like you.

(also posted in Bass fishing) That storm from Sunday evening was a whopper. Many boats caught in the windy conditions.. Found many inflatable tubes, caps, and many boat seats seen on the banks. If you know anyone who lost a tube for pulling behind a boat have them gt in touch with me.

Flooded and stuck in the gravel at Dove Ramp (gone by the afternoon).
