Richland Chambers Lake fishing report.

Richland Chambers Lake fishing report. - 06/16/20 08:20 PM

I'll just say we're starting earlier but somedays we're fishing later to catch a good table of fish.

Sandbass and hybrids alike have gone into the June slumps like I've never ever seen!

The fish are seemingly in very poor shape when we find them.
They taste the same but the fat just isn't there!

In my opinion it was a very hard spawn for the lake.
Although we had plenty of current in the creeks, the unseasonably cool days in the spring just wouldn't let them spawn out.
Most fish we caught in those days were half full of eggs that they couldn't get rid of.

Now they are stressed and not moving just hunkering down rebuilding there energy and trust me they are hard to find and hard to get to bite when we find them.

I don't no the science of it I just know what I'm seeing.

In my opinion I think and hope they will be showing up in bigger schools and hungry by July.

Richland chambers is a fabulous lake and a favorite of many Anglers come join us when you can for a cool morning on the water and a good fishing experience before it gets to Hot to be out there.
Bob Holmes longest running fishing guide on the lake and still the striper lake record holder.
