Lewisville / Ray Roberts Guide Report 12-9 - 02/09/20 04:51 PM
I think reports should actually contain useful information to help us all become better fishermen, not just an opportunity to brag... Feel free to reach out if you need help on my home lakes. Also, If you are looking for a guide please keep me in mind.
Ray Roberts: White bass have continued to be outstanding. It's rare for us not to limit out. I haven't changed much from my last report with regard to the pattern. You can find fish on deep points and structure. They are all over the lake and feeding well considering the amount of water being released. If you need a starting point try the entrance of Johnson's Branch where the points meet the main lake in 45-50ish FOW. The fish will likely be suspended so use your electronics to tell you where to put your baits. If you don't have a thumper go get one.. There are two reputable manufacturers here on the form who sell them. Once you get a pattern going just look for similar structure around the lake. Fish super slow and barely twitch your baits (flukes and slabs). I've found that the most active fish are at the top of the column of fish. So if you have fish at 35-45 foot suspended in deeper water, sit your baits at 35 where the most active fish are. The crappie are not on the brush piles. I looked hard yesterday. The only way I can catch them at the moment is deep and mixed in with white bass.
Lewisville: Slow and aggravating. I know where the white bass are in droves but I cannot get them to bite well enough to take customers out for them. Im using the same baits and techniques as I am on Ray Roberts. I keep telling myself that the fishing will get better once they stop releasing water. We are only about an inch high so it should be any day now pending we don't get dumped on hard this week. I have been scouting a few of the creeks and have found some (not many) early spawners... I can't wait for that to bust loose.. Crappie: man if i had some dynamite I might be able to catch one... they have lock jaw hard.. Hybrids: April-June should be hammer time like usual. They are hiding at the moment.
Here are a couple recent hero pics.
