I Need Some Guinea Pigs

I Need Some Guinea Pigs - 11/25/19 01:47 PM

Hey TFF, I'm looking for some guys and gals who plan to chase big fish this winter to help give me feedback on our new baits. Over the last ten years, we've been fortunate to have a great following in the crappie market, but I'm wanting to prove to the big fish folks that we our committed to making very high quality plastics.

If you'll send me your address, I'll get you a sample pack of our new Thump Bosses. Like I said, I'm looking for feedback so we can better serve a new demographic.

All our baits are made in the US, scented, UV enhanced and incredibly durable. I like fishing these on a top shot hook from RSR or one of his Stripaholic jigheads.

4" long and 1/2" across the shoulders.

PM sent. I’m betting they will work great for deadsticking white bass or hybrids! I have white bass in mind for them right now as I have been finding them stacked up. I’d be really curious if you made them 6 inches so the body is bigger for targeting hybrids/stripers but they maybe big enough as they are

Re: I Need Some Guinea Pigs - 11/25/19 05:23 PM

Thank you Mark C!

Respect the Fish, I went with the 4" version because I see a lot of the hybrids and stripers we target in the hard part of winter prefer smaller sized baits. I also wanted a length that would cross over into other species like speckled trout, flounder, largemouth, smallmouth, crappie, walleye, snook, etc.. These productions molds run me about $5k-$6K each, so I have to grow carefully. I bet a 6" bait would be absolutely killer though!!

We hammered the flounder on them last week down in Galveston, and I'm getting a lot of good feedback from the striper guides I've sent these to. As I get more feedback from fishermen, I'll make more colors that better suit everyone's needs.

Smart man! 4inch is perfect because it does cross so many more species. I’d be very interested to use them for crappie the few times I target crappie.

Silver half ounce jig head does he trick with these plastics . Drug on bottom for the finicky fish or in tandem for the more aggressive takers . Pink will do well in December on PK.

Re: I Need Some Guinea Pigs - 12/04/19 08:34 PM

Took sample pack to lake today. Had trouble finding fish but had a 7 lb hybrid that hit one of the sample pack baits while ignoring my usual deadsticking bait. Will go back and try them some more when I get back from a little trip.

Re: I Need Some Guinea Pigs - 12/05/19 08:51 PM

After fishing these I want to try some of your sassy shad if they’re made out of the same rubber :-)
Posted By: Laner

Re: I Need Some Guinea Pigs - 12/06/19 01:22 AM

Mr Carey, our sassy shad are made out of melted down Goodyear tires. If you want to get your hands on a few to see what they feel like, we just shipped several pounds to LakePro Tackle/Pond King. The glow belly version is spanking them on Texoma according to the folks fishing them up there.

Those look great Laner. I'll stop by there and get some!
Your baits last the longest of anything on the market.
We need them for hard hitting striper.

Thanks!

Re: I Need Some Guinea Pigs - 12/06/19 04:20 PM

I'd bet that bait on a 1/8 oz head would be great for sight fishing the reds down on the coast wink
Posted By: Laner

Re: I Need Some Guinea Pigs - 12/06/19 06:43 PM

Duck_Jerky you may be onto something. I haven't tried them for reds yet, but we absolutely hammered the flounder on them a couple of weeks ago when I was down in Galveston for my captain's class.

Big fan! Took the baits out to FPH today and did really well on white bass and hybrids with the white on a strike king 1/2 ounce jig head. I would like to buy some! PM sent.

Just ordered some white Thumb Bosses and the sassy shad "Thumb Daddies" in white! Look forward to adding it to my arsenal. Good job on the baits! They felt good quality and the fish definitely liked them yesterday.

Great soft plastics, I finally got to the lake today and the fish liked them. We caught multiple fish on these, and they are still in good shape.
