Windy, Wild and Wackin' Em!!! - 06/23/19 12:23 AM

The week started off with some mild and calm days but the last three days (Thursday thru Saturday) were something else! If you've fished on Richland Chambers, you know what a 20 MPH wind from just about any direction can do to this big ol' Lake. We had Gusts well over 25 MPH all three days. Luckily, it was from the South which allows some Main Lake Points and lots of the Richland Creek Arm to be fished safely. We caught Whites on the Main Lake (Roadbed, Longarm, Dogleg, etc.) a couple of days but most of our better catches came from Points, Humps, Flats and Ridges up the Richland Arm in water ranging from 10'-20' . While we saw a little Top Water action several mornings, almost all our fish came on an RSR Slab/Jig Teaser combo. Spillway Gates are still open, water clarity is good and the water temp is in the low 80's. It won't be long till the really good Main Lake Morning Schooling starts but for now most reports of Top Water Action are coming in the late Afternoon. Adam and I have July openings starting the first week of the month. No Weekends are open but plenty of Weekdays and even one boat still open during the July 4th Holidays.
