New to deadsticking. We were out at Whitney could mark them but no luck until around 10am we got into some. Question I have I went through 5 different slabs before I found what they like to hit. I tied a small tube jig above the slab. Which the stripers hit more then the slab. What do y’all prefer?

If you have not tried drop shot clips, give them a go! I just got these wire hook rigs in last week! Got some good info here too!

Dead sticking jig heads along with 3,5,7 inch flukes in chartreuse, white or pink

These jig heads work great.

Small chartreuse slab (sandies) or 4"coho (hybrid/striper) on bottom, tube jig on top or fly.
For me a must is to use braid, the bite is very light and you must be able to set the hook quickly without any line stretch.

These are hands down the best jig heads I've used (see website posted below). I've never found a sharper hook and the threaded feature keeps bait on really well. Most people seem to use 5 inch flukes, I have been doing very well using a Zoom 7 inch fluke all winter in pure white or smoking shad color that you find at academy. I made a video where I demonstrate how I rig up my two-hook system but today they got tangled up when I was reeling in a few big hybrids so I cut the lines and just tied on a single 1-ounce jig head on each line and honestly think I like it more. Its more simple, less tangles, and I rarely catch a fish on the top hook no matter what depth I set it so not really convinced the top hook is worth it.

Don't be afraid to down size. I've seen a number of guides use a three or five jig A-rig dead sticking.

Do you have a picture of that? Not familiar with an A Rig...

Drift fishing same as dead sticking, just putting more "bait" in front of the fish .
