Anyone know how the fishing is for Sandies on Cooper Lake? Any advice?

We were camping at South Sulfur from Wed-Sat. Not much boat traffic and saw no one cleaning fish. The water looked muddy and and still a little high. Good luck!

The Hubbard guys are going in August. I hope that water is cleared up by then.

The lake is about a foot low. It’s about normal color for Cooper actually starting to clear up a little. I’m not having any trouble limiting on any day. Fish are usually shallower then you would expect. Watch for the small hybrids mixed in been catching a few each trip around 14 inches long.

Thanks CLK. Sounds like in August if the weather holds out it should be good. We make an annual trip somewhere to celebrate Ray Boyer’s birthday. That is Dr Whiplash’s dad. I am not real sure how old Ray is but he always out fishes all of us.

We had well north of 200 yesterday in a 4 hour trip. My guys were done about 3 hours in when I caught a 6 lbs hybrid so we fished another hour and caught one more about 7.5 lbs. Fished one spot and never moved the whole time. hybrids seems few and far between but sandies are on fire.
