The yellow circle is where I have found them on a pretty regular basis between 9am and 11 or so. The red circle is where I found them Sunday just on the back side of that little island.

Re: Ray Roberts sand bass - 06/08/18 01:46 AM

The way it's been going for me lately I would probably start at isle de Boise about 600 yards north of the boat ramp.

I struggled trying to locate Sandies this morning at RR. Are they hitting top water and pushing bait to the surface yet?

Early may they were surfacing on the back side if cates point early in the morning but it's been real windy every time I have been it since and they are not there.

Re: Ray Roberts sand bass - 06/08/18 11:32 PM

I'm wondering if daybreak is the ticket to find surfacing fish. Because I didn't see a dang one from 7:45 - 10:30 this morning. Started near cates, worked toward the damn from party cove area to Sanger side of the damn.

Re: Ray Roberts sand bass - 06/09/18 01:50 AM

Sometimes you’d be surprised at how deep they will go

Re: Ray Roberts sand bass - 06/09/18 02:56 AM

I'm no professional, I just know what I have found while fishing Ray Roberts myself, and I almost always fish RR. They surfaced early and school between 15-20 feet midday them go deep after 1pm or so.

Re: Ray Roberts sand bass - 06/10/18 06:26 PM

Road beds from Isle de boise west and south. Wolfe always has suspended fish on breaks headed south. Sand bass flats, the creekbeds in front of the resort on top of hill .Lantana?? A lot of what u might see on Lowrance sonar will be drum. If its blue and in a strait line. Drum , they will take a slab, just not your target.

Found them by culp island Sat&Sun. There on top but by the time you sit down to start your boat....there gone. That was the most I'd saw all weekend & I went from 3002 to wolf island.

Re: Ray Roberts sand bass - 06/12/18 04:44 PM

They were schooling on top off the main point south of clear bay. Was bass fishing, and had a bone colored spook tied on. They didn't want it. Burned a rattled trap and caught a couple.

Re: Ray Roberts sand bass - 06/15/18 05:16 PM

Probably was me, the lake was quite. I only remember seeing 2 other boats, both were closer to pierce. You see me again come say hi, I'm probably not doing any good though. Lake eats me up...
