PK Report

PK Report - 05/09/18 10:19 PM

I don’t post much because I just don’t have a lot of time.
But I guess it is time for a PK report. Fishing is just flat off the charts!
It’s my favorite time of year.
We are waking Redfins early and late catching fish on top. Don’t be afraid to fish shallow early and late. Your not going to see a massive school busting the top. Just pick a good point and wake a Redfin across it. Blowups can be crazy. It’s a technique I see very few use anymore.. Try it with some confidence. Check out you tube etc thumb
Later in the day we are using the biggest shad we can find to lure the fish out of PK’s trees. Don’t frustrate yourself fishing to deep causing hangups and break offs. Hang the shad above the fish and they will come to you! Some places we are fishing 16’ in 45’ of water. Places with shorter trees or brush piles maybe 24’.
Stringers are ranging from 15 to 30 fish per half day. We catch one over ten lbs almost every morning. Biggest fish this week was 34” with 18.5 “ girth.

Went and got my bait tonight and it took a while longer than expected. Wasn’t going to throw topwater but since I was out anyway I tried a new spot close to home. Landed one Striper and a black bass. I had another big fish take my Redfin to the trees in the channel hammer

Thanks Randy, What will the rainy forecast for next week do to the bite

Re: PK Report - 05/10/18 06:58 PM

Some clouds would make it real good. Muddy water would shut it down.

Thanks Randy, hope we don't get enough rain to muddy it up
Tuesday I'll be the wet guy in the little Black Ranger fish

That's a nice one, if one like that busting your bait on top doesn't get your heart pumping you better get checked

Redfin bite was awesome last night. Took us a couple of times to find them. Catching stripers in 13 feet of water on top is as good a Striper fishing gets.
We even catch a few of these green perch on the Redfin!
