Lake Whitney Stripers?

Lake Whitney Stripers? - 04/02/18 03:23 AM

Howdy folks! Looking to start chasing the stripers next weekend for the first time this year by fishing Lake Whitney for my 30th birthday...I was just trying to find out if they're still north of the bridge or if they've made it toward the south side of the lake yet? I have some friends coming in and would like to show them a great time. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

It’s been a couple weeks since we have been there but I would stay with the north end by the bridge. We put in at cedar creek park and just trolled towards the bridge with umbrella rigs with chartreuse striper sniper swim baits. Landed 4 by the time we got to the main lake, 2 weee over 26 inches. Then moved down to the bridge and trolled around and landed a few more.Finished out in Cedron creek and got our 2 person limit all in a couple hours. Live shad is always best but hard to come by this time of year. Just look for the congregation of boats, they are usually the guides. If no luck try the south end off of Whitney state park, it’s not far of a drive. Hope it helps. Good luck and have a great birthday! If I hear any new info I’ll pass it along!

Was there two weekends ago. We didn't do well but what we caught was north of the bridge. Bite was slooow.

Triton CC is giving good advice. I would do what he suggests.
