Lake Whitney - 03/14/18 07:09 PM
I'm taking my dad out this weekend to try and catch some striper. Does anyone know where to begin looking in the spring? I haven't fished for them since last summer so I don't even know where to begin looking shallow or deep? We will be using live shad if that helps any.

I was fishing up the river over the weekend for blues and kept catching stripers on cut shad and carp in water 3 feet or less.

You have my sincere apology for being annoyed by those stripers. They were just hungry.

I was fishing the river when it was really cold and doing pretty good. After the warm weather and rain I can't find them I just assumed they went back to the lake.

Are there still lots of whites and stripers around McCowan? Headed there tomorrow
Fished the McCowan area last weekend... best striper results were on a chrome shad rattletrap. There was a bass tournament Saturday but I was still on the lake during the weigh-in and didn't see the results.

Been out of state working going Sat morn with my son. Want to avoid the big highschool bass tourn crowd. Anyone know where they are launching/weigh in. Thanks

They are doing weigh in at the State Park.
What ramps south/mid lake are open or good with a courtesy dock?

Is there a certain depth to target this time of year?

Starting about this time of year I usually start checking humps, especially those near the main river channel
