Neches River report

Anybody been fishing the Neches around Chandler?

Went by there Wednesday. Lot and ramp full and parked on road for 1/4 mile.....BUT...doesn’t mean they were catchin.

I’m going to take the boat out next week there. If it doesn’t rain any more i think the females will be in there next week.

caught 25 yesterday and a 4lb Hybrid. Alot of females. Found them out by looking for the slower current.

Going in the morning,can't wait to fight the circus of people.

Tree down bank to bank across river 100 yards south of ramp.

Fished from the railroad tracks to the turn by the rv camp from 3:30 till 7 today and only boated 7. Pretty slow today.... Good luck fellas!

Fished same area and one 3 lb hybrid, one 4 lb hybrid, one 19 inch hybrid, and 3 whites.

What are yall's thoughts on the run? Think it's over or what? Need more fresh water, etc..? This past Friday there was not much of a current and the bite was slow. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

I think we are at the tail end. High water allowed them to spread out to much more area than ever before and muddy water allowed them to swim by without seeing baits. Lots of new backwaters from the lake to the new campgrounds for them to stop.

I used to catch a limit in a few hours about 5,6,7 years ago near the bridge. Now it would take me a long time . Guess not in the right spot.

anybody fish the river this week? thinking about going tomorrow

Not fished but drove by twice in the last 10 days and no more than 10 vehicles in lots at 7 am and no vehicles at 10 or 11 am.
