Texoma Friday with Blasingame

Us hubbard boys hooked up with Texoma guide John Blasingame for a winter learning trip Friday. We were all very impressed with JB's tactics and skills. JB took us to many many spots and we caught a bunch with three DD fish up to 14# caught by yours truly. We all threw A rigs in 20 to 40 fow with extremely fast pace style to our very liking!

We caught well over 4 limits and only kept healthy box fish for eating and released all the overs to make more babies.

Water temp was 45f I think. Wind S 10 to 20 mph.

Sounds like an excellent day in my opinion. Congratulations.

It was a great day with John. We hit home runs in several different spots and the fish were moving and John kept us moving on those fish. He predicted where they would be and he was right every time.

Dennis, after fishing with you both, there are lots of similarlies between you two. JB structure fishes and scans those structures hard like you do until he findd good markings. Then positions he boat perfectly with respect to the strong wind so we all have perfect casting target. But instead of spotlock, we drifted thru them. Very small window to "Cast!" then Bam boom bam! Then "UP!" go find the next group. Sandies often remain hang around structure for more castings. Stripers MOVE! So we followed them. IMO it's not easy at all but JB made it look easy

Texoma is a great lake but catching limits in Feb is NOT easy IMO unless you really know what you are doing. Let's say we got our money's worth

JB seems like he finds big fish most of the time, are arigs all you threw?

Yes. He had like 8 rods already rigged up when we got there.

Solid , deliberate and well orchestrated post SeaPro and company. Chasing stripers with si on seems to be the only way to connect even when they should be staging.

True dat about SI! Gotta know your graph And your lake... DC and JB both hunt with their SI and downI extremely well. The rest just cast and reel
