Went in blind not knowing what to expect. Checked a point and only caught a few dinks. Decided to check deep water before heading north. Found scattered fish and bait and decided to drop some flukes down and begin thumping. We did catch 3 hybrids and as many sandies as you could want. Hybrids and bigger sandies came on the flukes but my son was using a slab with a jig tied above and was pulling in fish all day. The sandies would bite the fluke but in most cases was to big for the sandies. Never went north and stayed in 50’ of water with the fish suspended in 35’-40’ All of the sandies were10”-12” and the biggest hybrid was 6lbs. Thumping was key to keeping the fish under the boat. https://imgur.com/a/HyNpW
