I catch a ton of sandies in the shallows at spring time on that exact lure.

I prefer the 1/2 oz size in Pearl White for Sandies and Hybrids. Troll at 10 feet or so deep and under 2 MPH. One thing you do have to be careful about is getting stuck. There are 2 sharp treble hooks and Sandies are wiggly fish. Been stuck way past the barb twice this year. Had to push the hook through and cut the barb off.

My home lakes are packed with bait @10 to 20 feet down. The predatory fish are there as well. Hybrids love cranks. They will destroy that fat free shad in short order. However, you will enjoy the ketching , and yes to underscore the above , sandies will hit that lure. Don't be surprised to tail hook a bunch as tail slapping is in full swing.

Citrus shad is a good color and a big sandie won't hesitate to hit that big deep diver when on the feed, as long as a hybrid doesn't get there first. woot

I have 10" - 12" whites attack my 5" Zara Spook all the time, so you will not have any problems with that bait.

I catch a bunch on that same lure. Have caught some whites that were shorter than my big pencil popper when the top water bite is on.

Nope. Add a couple jigs above it for three times the fun
