Late Memorial Day report

Sorry for the delay, but had to wait for the women to prepare the catch...

Headed to Lake Fork Memorial Day morning in hopes of finding some big bowfin, but didn't see a one. When things started looking grim, I remembered that some of Jos' family and friends were always asking for us to bring them some "eatin' fish", so decided to totally change tactics.

Heavier gear was tossed aside, and lightweight stuff was rigged. From that point on for the next hour or two it was non-stop action for gills, redears and eater cats. No monsters, but it sure was fun. It was Jos' first time chasing sunfish, and she loved it! Much different than fighting big 'fins, but the action was so fast and the fight on light gear such a hoot, that she had a great time.

Been photographing fish for quite a while now, but I'm certainly no pro... All of the photos came from my Sony Android or Jos' iPhone, so just your basic stuff. Just glad people like the pics

Although I do some cooking, Jos is the fish chef, and I have no clue what sort of magic Filipino tricks she employs.

Although I'm a Rocky Mountain guy, the last four years I've fished lots of the DFW and east Texas waters, but Fork gets 90% of my time. Such an outstanding mix of species of real quality there!
