A fair afternoon on Converse Lake.

A fair afternoon on Converse Lake. - 12/22/11 12:19 AM

Went to Converse Lake to see how the recent rains have helped it. The Lake is in good condition and has filled up a lot since I was last there in October. I fished from 3pm till 5:30pm and located some small Gills. Caught ten of em fishing off of the bottom using worms. Also caught a small bass about 10 inches in length. Fish were in pretty good shape. All were caught on ultra light tackle and were released to fight again. A simply way to just relax. fish

Nice Gill and a good report. woot I was just wondering how that Lake was doing. Glad to see it coming back. I love those trees that are in that lake. cheers

Thanks Gitter. I think those trees provide some great cover for a lot of those fish. That is one reason it keeps a good population of Gills and Bass. Providing we keep getting some decent rain this winter Converse Lake should be super this spring.

I heard 8 to 10 feet. It is very similar to Live Oak Lake. Just smaller. fish

Both Converse and Live Oak lakes have some great tree lines and tree cover. I agree. If we keep getting some decent rain those two lakes will be super this upcoming year. banana

"DR" I have fished that lake several times. The last time I fished it was this past summer. Usually get the same type of fish and quality of fish at either lake. I fish the park lake the most because it is closer and super easy to get to. fish

I checked the Salado Creek and it is full with a fast current. Very muddy on the banks. Would not fish it for at least several days until it drys out some.
