Flannel (FCL 9/27/22) - 09/28/22 01:48 AM
When I got to the lake this morning it was 59 degrees. Had my trusty flannel lined shirt that kept me pretty cozy till it warmed up. Fished from 7am - 4 pm. Fished for bass for the 1st hour with no luck, so decided to focus on Sunfish most of the day...and glad I did. It was my best day of the year for QUALITY fish as well as great numbers. Targeted 5 specific areas and all still have plenty of action. Water temp was 86 - 88 degrees in most of the areas I fished. It looked like the water level was down just a little, but checked & it is at 390.29 MSL with 391 being full pool. Fished with various colored Gulp Allive 1" minnows and that did the trick. You can see large schools of small minnows around each of the areas I fished...thus why the Gulp Alives do so well. Only caught 3 bass all day & 2 of those were by accident while fishing for sunfish. One was pretty good and took my 4 lb test down in a tree b4 breaking off. Oh well..."What's a mother to do" ?
