Blanco State Park Fishing? - 05/02/22 11:43 PM

Thinking about taking a trip in the near future. Couldn't find any fishing reports...so anyone have any experience there?

Thanks

Great park and I fish it a few times each year. I have caught some nice Bluegill, Hybrid Sunfish, Redbreast, and Redear. The Blanco River flows through the park. Fish the area to the left coming into the park. The sunfish this time of year will be hanging close to the overhanging tree limbs. Across the river on the other bank is best. There are trails but the the bank space is "Tight Quarters". I have seen some very nice bass, and carp. If you have a kayak you can cover a lot more area. There is a very good Mexican Restaurant called Hacienda El Charro, that is right up the road from the park . Great food. food

Side Note: You can also checkout River Road that is west of the park. Plenty of bank space, with two dams. Also during the summer the park is usually very busy. I tend to stay away during the busy times. thumb
