Amistad quickie

Amistad quickie - 02/14/22 08:36 PM

We headed out to Amistad yesterday in the hunt for smallies. The day was beautiful with bluebonnet skies. Slight chill in the air, remnants from the cold front from the day before.
We pretty much had the lake to ourselves. Thank you superbowl! The bite wasn't to active and we didn't have much time so we had to fish faster than we usually like. We still managed to catch a variety of bass. Whites, smallies and lmb.

It is a red deer. This one was a young stag. Which was a good thing since we had to quarter it and pack it out. It was way down in the bottom of a deep canyon....my legs are still sore lol

Side note: they are excellent eating, very similar to axis
