Busy Lake (FCL 11/23/21)

Fished FCL solo today, but wasn't alone...the lake was packed with folks off thanksgiving week. Got to the lake late (8 am) because I hate cold weather, and fished until 3 pm. Heading back I-10 was bumper to bumper all the way, plus there was a pretty major accident involving a semi at the Schulenberg I-10 overpass. Water temp was 68 - 70 degrees in the areas I fished & the water level continues to drop. I ended up with 1 catfish, 2 small bluegill & 24 real nice bass. The bite was real good between 9:30 & 12 noon but after that it was pretty dead. I think the key is being at the right place when they turn on and start feeding on shad. For the 24 bass I never moved the boat once & could see the shad school swimming all around my boat. All fish caught on Tsunami 2" Holographic swimbaits & Culprit worms in 20-25 feet of water. Here is a photo of Seemore, my buzzard deterring guard owl & a few of the fish caught & released today...Happy Thanksgiving to all you TFF fish busters !

Those are some beautiful bass you caught vogey did your owl do it's job?

Side Note: What is your outlook for the sunfish bite on Fayette next year?

Leo...I have been using the owl for about a year now, and so far no buzzards have attacked my truck.

Will do! Work has been a hassle since covid. If not this year, next year for sure! Since my east end of the Guadalupe River has been washed out I plan on fishing Fayette more as well as the Austin area.


Side Note: Will also be fishing Mcqueeney a lot more !

When it comes to Fayette you would be the best to answer any questions about that lake! Thanks for the info.
