Fayette Help - 09/24/21 03:54 PM

I fish fayette quite a bit for bass but need a little help on the sunfish. I'm taking my good friends and their 2 year old daughter there tomorrow. Want to get her on some good action. Should i get some minnows or what type of bait would be best to get a lot of bites? What depth would be best to fish right now?

Yes Sir when it comes to catching "Big Sunfish" on Fayette Steve aka Vogey is the one to give the advice. He has been called and is in my opinion the "Master of Fayette"! thumb

Side Note: He also catches is share on nice bass. Hopefully he will reply to your post! cheers

brett...Well...Here I am ! The master, king & all around fisher on FCL.(Hillarious !) As a matter of fact, I just got home from FCL, and will do a full report later. Two years old is a bit young, but have at it....you must have a lot of patience. I am not going to go into detail & it may be too late if you are already on your way, but you can and use worms, crickets, or Gulp Alive 1" minnows(what I use) & they will all catch sunfish. I will share one particular spot where I found a bunch today. As you are heading out from Oak Thicket there is a swimm beach that is marked by buoys. Fish right between those buoys & just outside them...especially the last two that mark the beach....good luck & let us know how you do. Would love to see some pics of the 2 year old holding a fish !

Thanks for the advice Vogey. We got her on some perch and bass. She wanted to pet every fish that was caught. And we even caught a pretty big Rio down by the intake. The best bait for the perch was an earth worm and my friend brought ultra light rod and reels. Ill post some pics when I get home from work.
