The BEST rio day ever! (Pic extra heavy) - 09/14/21 09:48 PM
Ok so we headed out Saturday night to one of our fishing spots and did some night fishing. We rigged up our gar gear and set out 4 rods then we jigged for crappie while we waited patiently for the gar to bite. Well we had 4 gar runs and landed 2 one 4ftr and one 6ftr. The pic is horrible but you can make out what it is lol.
Weird thing we noticed when Leo brought him to the boat was that he wasnt hooked, it just had the line that was tied to the weight through its teeth.
I caught 3 crappie that night all dinks.
After fishing till about 4 am we set up tent and crashed for a few hrs.
Sunday, after a good nights rest and everything was back in its place we commence to fishing. Started working the bank with JIGLYF jigs.
First fish of the day was a rio and the rios just kept coming
I say we caught about 35 rios most ranging from 7-9in and one was over 10in. Leo was pitching 1/32 oz and i was pitching 1/16.
We also caught channel cats, sunfish, bass and a gasper gou also caught on JIGLYF jigs.
