A Couple of Good Days! - 05/18/21 02:31 AM
Been having to work pretty hard finding places to fish. Most of my spots are either flooded, creeks up to their banks, rivers have very fast currents, ponds are all overflowing, and yes there is plenty of muddy water to go around also. The good news I did manage to get a couple of GOOD DAYS and found some very good fish. I also made a couple of road trips and met up with my buddy Fred aka Rionator. We caught some BIG Bluegill ! The sunfish are in full spawn and are on nest. Catching fish in 3 to 16 feet of water depending on the type of waterbody. Beds were found in shallow coves three to five feet of water in grass beds, 12 feet of water on rock bottoms, and in 4 to 5 feet of water by reed beds. Had several Bluegill close to a pound and a half. Most fish were over a pound. A lake and a creek produced good numbers. Rivers, most creeks, and ponds were slow. All fish were caught on the "Bait of Champions" worms. All were released to fight again. Also had to dodge some down pours. Looks like a wet week ahead. Waterbodies should be in great shape for the long hot summer! Searching for new fishing spots and catching trophy Bluegill and Redear. It just don't get any better!
