Fayette 5-15

Fished from 7 to 1. Had to leave early due to some hydraulic steering issues but the bite had slowed down anyways. Weather was a lot nicer than forecasted with the wind being manageable. Caught about 50 perch between my dad and I. Most were in deeper water on dropshot rig with gulp. I tried a few shallower pockets and Reed beds but no luck. Plenty of shad in the shallows. Caught a few bass and catfish as well which is always fun on the ultra light. From what I heard, bass bite appeared to be slow likely due to so much forage available for them to eat.

Solid post and solid fish. Also most important "Memories Made" ! Good job guys.


Side Note: Fished Fayette last week for two days. The Bluegill were in spawn mode on nest. Caught them in 6 to 12 feet of water by grass beds.

No records but plenty of HUGE Bluegill. Looks like PerksOutdoors found some of them also.

Good day Perks...The bass bite was good earlier in the week...you can catch them on anything that looks like a shad.

Chuck...did you fish from the bank, or go boating ?

Yes sir, the photos and memories are what I enjoy the most. Looking forward to getting my son on a few perch beds in the near future.

Thanks for the info Vogey. I threw a few baits in all the shad to see if there were any bass feeding but it's hard to put the ultra light down when the gills are biting.

Perks...I hear ya ! It's nice this time of year when you can catch both pretty easily...so I like to break it up a little, especially when so many bass are feeding on shad.

Chuck...where you there the same days me & my friend were ? If you had let me know you were going we could have met up and swapped some fishing tales.
