We headed out to Amistad Friday evening. It was super windy more than usual, but it made for a great evening. We launched and headed our to one of our goto coves. Right away we started catching. Leos jig accidentally got slapped by a turtle.
Were convinced theres as many smallies as there is lmb. We caught at least 15 smallies. Nothing huge this go around.
Caught a few lmb,
Found a small school of white bass, all pretty much the same size. Good fighters for there size. They were hitting the jig on the fall.
Caught one channel cat.
We also caught a few longear but didnt take pics of them. We did hang on to them though. We used them for some night fishing. We caught a flathead with a fresh and lively longear.
While we waited for something to hit our longears, we jigged under the green lights. Caught some lmb, a small mouth bass and some white bass.
We stayed out till about 1am then headed back to the boat ramp. It was a good thing we left when we did because it only got windyerrrr. All fish caught on JIGLYF jigs except for the flathead. They were also released to swim another day.
