FCL Report From 3/3/21 - 03/04/21 11:49 AM
Doc & I fished Fayette yesterday from 8:30 til 5:30. Wind was light all day which was awesome ! Lots of boats out...water temp in most areas was 67-68 degrees. Started off the day busting the trolling motor prop in half at launch, but as I have seen from past experience, the spot lock still works...if you don't mind the vibration. Now to the fishing...We had an awesome day...ended up with 115 total. (around 40 bass, 74 sunfish & 1 catfish) The biggest sunny was a red ear that went 11". We also had 3 over 10" & around 10 in the 9-10" range...very few small ones under 7". We tried several locations, but the sunfish were only present in that one spot. The big bass of the day was a "rescue" fish. We spotted her thrashing around & ended up netting the fish. It had gotten a decent size Tilapia wedged in its throat/gills. We performed surgery & watched her swim away...hopefully we will meet again under different circumstances...This bass is the one in black & white on the collage page of photos. Around 2/3 of the fish were caught on Gulp Alive minnows & a1/3 on BOC (worms) . We also got a few on swimbaits...Cant wait til next week...
