Headed South to see how this cold front affected the gills. The day was a little cool in the morning and and was partly cloudy rest of the day. Last week there was alot of red dragon flies, and we caught lots of fish using red jigs. This week there was blue dragon flies and caught on blue jigs. Talk about matching the hatch.

That is a nice offer. Thank you very much. I may take you up on it once it warms up again and we get past this COVID stuff. Of course if I come we need to beat Chuck’s All-tackle IGFA Rio World Record. bolt

Wow a few of the fish look like actual rock bass or what we called "red eye" growing up in Virginia. Had no idea we might have them here as they always seem to prefer cooler water. Awesome fish though. Biggun bass on little 1/32 jigs is impressive.

I don't know Chuck. I have seen some "MIGHTY BIG" Rios in some of those hill country rivers. I was tempted to get a carton of worms to see if I could one of them to bite! hooked I have managed a few on the Gulp Alive Leaches! Seems that the Rios have had a good survival rate the last two years. coolio

coolphotos Great post as always! Thanks for sharing.

Side Note: Good luck on beating Chuck's BAF world record Rio. A lot of fly anglers have been trying since 2011. Records however are made to be broken.

Records are made to be broken, however, I would bet Chuck spent many hours with a reel in his hand to catch his all-tackle world record Rio.

Barry you got that right. We both know records are very hard to come by. I can not even guess how many fish I catch before I get a record. I do know it's a LOT! I just love to fish and when I see someone catch a record I get more excited than they do. When I started getting records they were fish that no one targeted. Bluegill, Redear, Rio's etc. There are a lot more anglers taking part in the Anglers Recognition Program than there were when I first started. Love it ! thumb
