First Texas Bluegill!

Dry spell has been broken! After piddling around the various ponds and creeks in Allen for the last week or so I finally went out to Bethany Lakes with some nightcrawlers on my hook. At about 7:15PM those fish were so hungry that I was reeling something in just about every cast! I also brought my vertical jigging rod to test out the pier but had no luck. The only disappointment was that apparently Bethany lakes are catch and release only (save for stocked trout?) I was going to try to introduce the girlfriend to the wonderful world of the fish fry. Oh well, I'm going back out tomorrow morning to another pond so I can harvest some bluegill fillets. Yum!
