Yeah gave the crappie a break besides it's almost time for gills anyway....

My kind of fishing! Love that Bluegill action. Enjoyed the video and thanks for sharing some good information. Also good job on changing up tackle and finding nice fish.

Banker these gills are almost as picky if not more than crappie when using jigs.....
The water is usually super clear and I had thought about weather my normal leader I use for crappie would be too big for them in this lake.
Earlier before I started recording and before the sun had gotten up the bite was fairly good then they just shut off.....
I made several changes on jig color without any results and figured the only thing left was them seeing the 12lb mono leader I always use for crappie..... That was the ticket....

Side Note: What caused that "BIG BLAST" at the start of your video? "Bass"?

There were two big gators, looked to be a female and a giant male..... The female gator had been there when I fished it earlier and my last round to that spot she had her boyfriend with her.....
