Fayette 2/3/20

Fayette 2/3/20 - 02/03/20 09:26 PM

Finally made it back to Fayette today...Man, was it windy ! 20-25 mph all morning. Didn't even venture across the lake, looked kinda dangerous, so stayed in "somewhat" protected coves by the ramp. Fished from 7:30 to 11:30...water temp mid 60s & still around 3 feet low. Got to try out the new Minn Kota Terrova trolling motor today...ok...I really put it to the test in that wind, and it performed like a champ ! When you put it on "spot lock" it stays in the same spot no matter how high the waves are crashing, or how hard the wind is blowing. Only fished for bass due to the conditions & ended up with 10...all around the same size (1-3 lbs). Didn't get a chance to try out the Hummingbird fish finder...maybe next trip... [Linked Image]

That’s some nice chubs there Steve. Glad to hear the Terrova let you focus on the fishing instead of the trolling motor with that wind going on !

Fishing in that kind of wind requires some serious dedication. It certainly paid off though, nice fish.

Super post and some super fish. Good job Vogey! woot Fayette can be one tough lake to fish with those strong winds. Especially in a kayak. Usually will not venture out if winds are 15 to 20 mph.

Side Note: How deep were the bass?

Laker...Mostly 8-10 feet in the trees, but I was very limited as to where I could fish, so not sure how good a representation that really is...

Yet another super post! Good job Vogey. Fayette can be a BIG problem with strong winds.

Thanks! There is a very good chance we will run into each other on Fayette this year, especially during the summer when I can take a Tuesday off every now and then!
