First Troutin' Trip to Chandler

First Troutin' Trip to Chandler - 12/21/19 07:30 PM

Today was the first full day of my winter break from teaching. So of course I had to wet a line. I headed over to Chandler to fish my regular pond. Funny thing was the fountain that is in the pond was not running and the water was a couple feet lower than normal. I tossed lures for over an hour and never got so much as a tap. Then I broke out the fireballs and that did the trick.

Fireballs on a thin wire hook fished weightless on the bottom proved deadly. They run from about 7 inches to a little over 10 inches. Tonite they have a date with the cornmeal and some hot oil. Tomorrow I think I will hit Canton. Never tried it there and want to see how it stacks up to Chandler.

Cheers Y'all

Great way to start to winter vacation with a nice limit of Rainbow Trout. Good job Flags. hooked

Side Note: If you would have been fishing down here and the Super Duper Lures were not getting hit, you would turn to the Berkley Trout Power Bait. Yellow in color! thumb
Seems that those Fireballs were the closer up there and got the job done. It will be interesting to see what the fish do in Canton. hmmm
