RECORD/TROPHY Redbreast,NICE Bluegill,& a RECORD Rio! - 12/16/19 04:31 PM
Fall Creek Fishing has been on "FIRE"! Been taking advantage of the mild temperatures and the long warming periods between cold fronts. Been catching plenty of TROPHY size Redbreast including a RECORD Redbreast! Also catching a few TROPHY size Rios including a Catch&Release Rio Record. The Redbreast was 10.15" in length with a weight of .98 Lbs. Both C&R and weight records were submitted to the Texas Parks&Wildlife. The Record Rio was 10.20" in length. Caught well over 15 Redbreast that were over 10" during a one week period. Well over 50 Redbreast in the 9" range. Rounding out the catches were plenty of Bluegill in the 8 to 9 inch range, and several nice bass in the 2 to 4 pound range. Had one HUGE bass (over 5 pounds) tossed a hook back at me after about a one minute fight. Fish were caught in 5 to 8 feet of water using the "Bait of Champions" worms. Great late fall creek fishing in Texas! It just don't get any better!
