Little fish but big fun - 09/02/19 07:40 PM
Youngest daughter, her husband and the two teens (from Houston) wanted to go fishing. So this morning I piled them in the truck and took the boat to the Navasota River to hunt the wily Bream. They are not the most experienced of fishing folk, so the first 15 minutes were tangled lines and madness. But, we got it all sorted out, found out what the fish wanted, and I swapped out the jigs. We caught about 30 bream (bluegills) and the grandson caught one decent bass and a nice crappie. In the course of all this action, I caught maybe the smallest bass ever caught (size of your little finger).
Much trash talking was done, a few PB&J sandwiches eaten, and a good time was had by all. I sure hope this leads to more fishing trips with that mob.
I was afraid there might be a lot of traffic on the river, but we were one of only 3 boats.
