Lady Bird Lake Austin! - 08/05/18 12:52 PM

Decided to fish Lady Bird Lake Austin Friday. Fished from sunup till 12pm. The bite was fair. Picked up some nice Bluegill in 14 feet of water up river. Also caught a couple of nice bass in the 3 to 4 pound range hanging under overhanging tree limbs in 4 to 5 feet of water. Several nice Redear rounded out the catch. Fish were caught on ultralight tackle using plastic worms and jigs. Chartreuse/Black, and Purple were the colors that got the best results. The best bite occurred between 8am and 9:30am. After 9:30am it slowed down. After 11 am the bite turned off. Caught a total of 20 fish. All were released to fight again.

Lady Bird lake like Dunlap is an constant water level lake. The water is somewhat clear is some areas and cloudy in others. The water's overall condition is good in my opinion. Great lake to fish from a kayak. They do not allow gas motor driven boats on that lake! woot
