Perch infested water's - 07/05/18 05:09 AM
Hope everyone had a wonderful and safe Fourth of July My husband and I went out to try a lake on the Nueces River. We looked for crappie, but just caught different species of perch over 50 of them. My husband caught them using 1/64oz jigs.
I used 1/16oz jigs. First catch of the day was this little spotted gar.
We also caught a few ditch pickles.
Heres a few of the perch that were caught.
Then we came across this lovely creature that was having herself some brunch.
I beleive she was eating a bull snake, we got up close to it and it just had the tail hanging out of it's mouth. Ok back to the perch.

All fish were released and the indigo was left alone to enjoy her meal. I couldn't have asked for a better Fourth of July spent with my best friend.
