Diesel in this cold weather - 01/07/10 12:38 AM
Is there any worry about diesel fuel gel formation with the temperatures we are expecting the next two or three mornings? It is supposed to be 8-10 up here in Frisco Friday and Saturday morning. I added some fuel additive which is supposed to prevent gelling. Is there anything else I need to do?
Thanks,
Ron

You should be fine. Plug it in if you are worried. I ran diesels in PA back in the ninety's and never had fuel gel on me. Its not going to be 8 degree's for very long.

I like to run my Cat 3116's a little while after adding the treatment to get the treated fuel in the lines.

your fine....
what year is your truck?
if it is an '08 or later, you need to be VERY careful about adding fuel treatment!

Start it up and go.
Its not going to get that cold for long enough periods of time to do anything.
