brake actuator shock replacement

brake actuator shock replacement - 06/24/18 12:35 PM

My boat trailer has a UFP A-60 brake actuator.
I need to replace the shock inside the actuator assembly.
Has anyone done this themselves?
I wondered how difficult it is to do.
My biggest concern would be if I have to remove brake lines and therefore bleed the brakes. I don't feel confident in bleeding the brakes.

Yes u will have to disc brake line and bleed brakes. Not hard if u get a bleed pump from auto store around 40.00

or a vacuum line between bleeder and a jar of fluid.

If I had to replace the shock, I would just replace the whole unit and be done with it. Much simpler in the long run, and you get the added benefit of a new master cylinder.
