Winter carp and buffalo locations

Hello all
Was wondering if anyone had tips on where carp and buffalo end up during these colder months. Do they start in the same general areas or migrate deep like most of the rest of the fish? Any geography I should focus on? (Flats points humps?)

I am FAR from an expert. But one thing I have noticed, and why I fish for carps and buffs, is that they seem to stay shallow and keep feeding shallow in the winter.

I usually can run into them on points that have quick drop offs near the bank...they seem to feed better after a few days of warmish/sunny weather.

That said, I am not an expert. There are several who are experts who post here. I am sure they will add on some info.

No matter what time of year I look for two key things when it comes to choosing a spot. Those are the wind blowing at the bank and structure or cover. Very similar to Bass fishing. From there it's just a matter of baiting the spot for 3 days or longer and fishing it! Baiting is optional but once you start baiting you'll never go back to not.
You'll find fish in all depths this time of year, shallower on warm/sunny days and deeper on colder days. 10-15ft is good year round but don't be afraid of trying very deep or shallow water, some of my largest fish have come in 2-4ft or 30ft+

I have caught some of my biggest fish in January and February. Chumming is very effective in the winter. As stated earlier, fish can be found in any depth, but I have found that many of my favorite summer shallow spots contain very few fish in the dead of winter. I do really well in 15 to 25 feet of water when it is really cold.
