Great video B&B, thanks for sharing. I was just curious, has anyone else have any luck with landing a Carp by grabbing it by the tail? grin

Yessir! Oftentimes when I'm fishing with friends or family and we triple/quadruple or more and we don't have enough nets I'll wade out into the water and land mine by hand.

Fantastic fish on a fly rod. I am interested in what you find out from Texas Parks and Wildlife concerning a state record. State records are recorded for weight and length. Your fish may well have been the state record by weight for a grass carp on a fly but it did not appear you weighed the fish on a certified scale. As for length, unfortunately grass carp is not one of the species Texas Parks and Wildlife has set length requirements for a catch and release state record. Please let us know what you find out concerning a pending state record. No matter what TPWD says concerning a record that is a great fish.
