It was hot out but the water was cool. Only landed a few. Full write up on my blog. https://carpstalkertx.wordpress.com/

Well done. It's good to see carp and buffs taken on flies.

Good stuff! Lewisville is filled with little ones, but they're bruisers!

I don't fly fish but I catch them over 10 lbs a little further down river from you. Water still has current, but a little deeper just before the railroad bridge. I bet those were fun on the fly!

Has anyone caught one of decent size? I always thought it was cool seeing them swim in the current right off the bank. It is a bit of a trek but if you walk down the bank until it meets a train track, there is a good hole to fish. The current slows and it is deeper as well. I have only caught smaller fish and the trek is too long for me during the summer because of the heat but it is beautiful in the fall.

The lake records are around 20 for Carp and 18 for Buffalo. I've caught some close records right from the fishing barge years ago. Generally speaking, if you're catching active fish and they are smaller, cast another pole a bit further out. I've always caught bigger fish just past my chum / active feeding line.
