My first alligator gar!

And I’d say it’s a pretty nice one!

Caught it bank fishing Falcon Lake. Targeting catfish with shrimp and cut carp. It took a shrimp off the bottom. Luckily the circle hook got it in the edge of the mouth because that rod has 25# mono and no steel leader.

4.5 feet long. Any guess on the weight?

Thanks TCC! Yeah it was. Wish it was daylight so I could have seen more though! It was caught shallow so there was no jumping though until it splashed in about 18” of water.
