Earth snake in an acorn

Took this photograph a few years back. I was working in the yard when I found this acorn with a tiny Earth Snake in it.

Small snake but would still put my wife in orbit. She hates snakes.

I find pieces of those snakes in my yard during mowing seasons. Neighbors kids would hunt and collect them like a zoo.

They like to live in the crack where the edger goes. Usually doesn't end well for them.

Thank you! I agree, theyre completely harmless and a cool piece of the ecology. We don't kill bass or other fish just because, so I say if it's not hurtin me I dont hurt it.
