#$@! That's Cold

#$@! That's Cold - 05/10/22 05:15 AM

Ice went out last week so time to put the dock out. Had to move 2 of the four 400 lb submerged concrete anchors after the ice moved them 50+feet out of position. Than had to swim out to, dive down to and flip one of them over using a pry bar in the 40 F recently ice covered frigid water. Swam out wearing nothing but a pair of heavy work boots to help my feet on bottom when i was prying. My mid 50s body is getting a little old for that chit. Thank the gods for whiskey.

First step was to reposition the 400 lb submerged anchors:

The 2000 lb paddle board. Paddled the two pieces about 1/4 mile from the winter shelter spot to the summer dock location:

We used to put beer in bags or fish baskets and into the waters when we were up yonder. No need for ice.

A true survivor ! Excellent creativity spawned from necessity . 40 degree water temps are a good way to lose weight and stay healthy.

Ice on water -- not something we worry about on our lakes in South Texas! Water temperature yesterday at Choke Canyon was 83 degrees. Lowest water temperature I've seen down here is in the low 50's. stir
