Foxy Spectator - 02/11/22 02:24 AM

This fox was moving around the shoreline while I was fishing in my boat this afternoon. He or she didn't seem wary of me. Twin Points on Eagle Mountain Lake.

Thats really cool. Little grey fox. When I lived in Colorado, I was out pheasant hunting and had a an even tinier Swift Fox that followed us through a field that tried to load up in the truck when we were done wish I would have had the forethought to snap a photo. That thin wasn't bothered by the dogs nor was it gun shy. Probably associated hunters with getting an easy meal from crippled or lost birds left behind.

I would think so. There are lots of little den like openings in the bluff. The lake is down 2.3ft. The area where the fox is walking is normally under water.

Yes, lots of deer. We also see lots of snakes and turtles. I've seen racoons and foxes before. I've never seen as many snakes on other lakes as I have on EM. We ran up on what must have been a den of water snakes in the back of a creek one time. They were everywhere!

I saw another fox today on Eagle Mountain on a nearby but different point. He or she must be living in the rocky shoreline or hunting there. He was more shy or skittish and I couldn’t get a picture of him.

Had only seen a couple of foxes in my life before moving to east Texas... had a mama fox in the neighborhood with 4 babies a few years ago. Would throw dog food in my yard to attract them late at night. One of the little ones made friends with my cat and became good buddies. Stayed around for over two years, visiting and playing with cat. Got to where I could feed it by hand but was still not tame.

two of the four little ones before the mother moved them out in the woods.

would spend hours every night just sitting and watching my cat and fox become friends

[Linked Image]
got to where they would take turns chasing each other..

[Linked Image]
Would see the other little foxes but only this one would come over every night and the only one my cat played with.
