Need help with pump - 03/15/19 02:02 PM

Notice 750gph aerator pump in floor of pontoon. Trying to pull water from lake into my bait tank project. Can’t make make pump move water up to tank thru floor. Will show details of my my design when finished. Got many ideas from this forum.

Those pumps are not self priming. You will either need a self priming pump or get that one below the lake level. You could also try to prime it from above. Here's one option:

I may end up having to use one of those diaphram self priming pump. I was just hoping to use this aerator pimp some way since I already had it. I think the distance between the water and the bottom of my tank may be over 2 fr straight up. I wish I knew how to figure how strong of a pump it take to pull that water that high from lake. I was hoping to make my pump work by back priming from bait tank but that has not worked yet. Thanks for your suggestion! I did not know about those style pumps. All ideas are appreciated !!!!!
